Refrigerator Repair-Abilene. We have Answers!

Updated: Sep 24, 2021

So the fridge is out and you just bought groceries. What Now?! 1st of all, don't panic. I'll tell you how to keep all of it cold or frozen without moving a thing.

But before you do anything, place a call to our office at (325) 704-5475. That way we can get you into the soonest available appt. time.

Next, you'll want to pick up a some Dry Ice from your nearest supermarket. Depending on the size of your fridge or freezer, you'll need to pick a couple of bags of this to get started. Frozen food will stay frozen for a day to 2 days if you leave the door shut but put some dry ice in the top of the freezer anyway to be safe.

In the refrigerator, put dry ice near or on the bottom shelf. Keep an eye on your temps if you have a thermometer so you'll know when or if you need more.

Once our tech arrives, he'll do everything he can to get you back up and running as quickly as possible.

At Abilene Appliance Repairs, we are the refrigerator specialists of our area. With more than 35 years of refrigeration and electronics training, we can repair almost any refrigerator or freezer issue to work like new!

Here are a few things you can do to help get a fridge running if possible before we get there.

  1. Unplug the fridge and leave off about 15 minutes. Then plug back in. Sometimes this can get you back up temporarily, even if you need a relay or board replaced.

  2. Remove the back cover and brush off or vacuum out any dirt you see that could be blocking condenser airflow.

  3. Check your control setting to ensure it wasn't accidentally turned up or off.

  4. Put a thermometer inside the fridge area to monitor your temps until a technician arrives.
